WTAF is a
SENSORY EXPERIENCE Angie Y, MS, CHt?

Guided imagery is a sensory experience that uses imagination to create an internal experience you can:
---> see
---> hear
---> smell
---> taste
---> touch
---> feel—or simply know
Sometimes it shows up in black and white.Sometimes it comes in full-on, ridiculous,
Hollywood-level color.
You may see a place, hear a voice, smell food,
taste ice cream, feel the warmth of a pretend fire
or the chill of an imaginary ice bath.
And while you’re in the journey?Anything is possible.In Angie Y, MS, CHt Guided Imagery:~ Pigs can fly.~ Bugs can talk.~ Objects can share their experiences.~ Dogs can turn into people.~ Math can happen right in front of you, real time.~ New ideas for old business expansion can happen.~ Feeling joy, relief, healing, self love often happens.~ You can literally walk in somebody else’s
shoes—uphill, in the snow, 500 miles, until the
imaginary soles fall off.
YOU WANT "IT"?Angie Y, MS, CHt can help YOU, SMART Goals, and your imagination make "IT" happen.Your imagination does not have to obey physics, geography, time, or common sense.That’s part of its secret sauce.I guide the journey.Your imagination creates the experience.

Do I have to be good
at visualizing to use guided imagery?

Nope.Angie Y, MS, CHt Guided Imagery
is not an eye exam for your imagination.
You might see brilliant color.You might get black-and-white snapshots.You might barely “see” anything but clearly
hear something, smell something, taste something,
feel temperature, movement, touch,
emotion—or simply know where you are in the journey.
Just like in real life, no two people experience the same guided imagery experience exactly the same way.Your imagination is owned by you; your secret sauce.Angie Y, MS, CHt goal is NOT to make yours
behave like somebody else’s.
Our goal is to show you how to harness yours.

Where can I do an online
guided imagery journey
with Angie Y, MS, CHt?

Almost anywhere you can be safe, settle in,
and close your eyes for a while.
You need to be somewhere you are not responsible for keeping yourself or somebody else moving safely.Somewhere you can be reasonably uninterrupted
and somewhere I can see your face
during our online session.
Bedroom? Sure.Recliner? Absolutely.Desk or Dining Chair? Definitely.Passenger in a moving car? Yeah.Hospital/Hospice bed? If authorized, you betcha!Office with the door locked? Yep.The important part is that your body can stay safe
while your imagination goes wandering.

Can I do Angie Y, MS, CHt
guided imagery in a
moving plane, train, car, boat or operating machinery?

Yes—as long as you are not:
the pilot, captain, conductor, driver or operator.
YES!
~ If you are a passenger
~ If you can safely close your eyes for a while~ If you have enough privacy to journey~ And I can see your faceYour imagination does not care whether your
body is sitting in your living room
or cruising along at 30,000 feet.
Driving?
BIG FAT NO!

Can I do guided imagery at work or in my office?

Of course.Lock the door if you can.Ask not to be disturbed.Give yourself about an hour where nobody
expects you to answer the phone, solve a crisis,
approve payroll, or explain why
the printer hates everybody.
You need a place where you can
safely close your eyes and settle in.
Your office can become somewhere
completely different for a while.

What if I fall asleep during guided imagery?

No worries!You are wearing ear buds/headphones.My job as your guide is to keep your six senses
engaged enough that you’ll probably
wish you could stay in the journey longer.
Because I can see your face, hear your breathing,
and we communicate during the journey in
other ways, we have cues that tell us whether
you’re actively experiencing that
daydreaming state or drifting toward sleep.
And if you do get sleepy?We deal with the human being who actually showed
up that day—not some imaginary perfect client.

Can you get stuck
or trapped in
guided imagery?

Nope!Hollywood gets paid to make that scary.A guided imagery session can feel amazingly real.You may see, hear, smell, taste, touch, or feel what
is happening so vividly that, for a while,
your imagination can feel like its own little reality.
But you are still you.You are still wherever your body is.During guided imagery, you can talk to me,
move, open your eyes, scratch your nose, laugh,
say “nope,” or end the journey whenever you want.
You do not get trapped inside your imagination
or stuck in guided imagery.
I guide your CONSCIOUS journey.Your imagination creates the experience.You always keep the exit door.

Can guided imagery make
you do things you don’t want to do?

Free will first. Always.I guide. You decide.Guided imagery does not take away your ability to choose what you do.But can your imagination experience ridiculous things?Oh, absolutely.🧐 In your mind’s eye:🤯 Pigs can fly.🤯 Ducks can talk.🤯 Dogs can turn into people.🤯 Math can happen right in front of you.🤯 You can literally walk in somebody else’s shoes—uphill, in the snow,
500 miles, until the imaginary soles fall off.
That’s the point.Guided imagery does not have to obey physics, geography, time, or common sense.It can create an experience that would be impossible in real life—and make it sensory
enough to seem believable while you’re there.
Then we can give all that weirdness a purpose.Want to practice a SMART goal?Your imagination can rehearse it, hit obstacles, try again, reach the finish line,
and practice the experience before real life asks you to do it.

Can guided imagery help with my
anxiety, guilt, shame, or suffering?

Relief is a perfectly good goal.I do not promise cures.I do believe there is value in asking:What would feel better than this?Less anxiety?Less guilt?Less shame?Less suffering?More hope?More calm?More confidence?More acceptance?More ability to do the next thing that matters to you?That gives us somewhere purposeful to guide your imagination.I believe we are all doing our best to feel, live, and be authentic.You're not broken.You don't need fixing.You only need take your imagination for a spin around your imaginary block.Sometimes you need today to suck less.We can start there.

WTAF Is a SMART Goal,
Angie Y, MS, CHt?

A goal is not:“I want to do better.”“I should really start.”“I need to change.”“I’m gonna try.”That is wish language.A SMART Goal gives your brain something specific to aim at.✅ Specific.
✅ Measurable.
✅ Achievable.
✅ Relevant.
✅ Time-Bound.
Now we have a target.And once we have a target?We can rehearse hitting it.That is where guided imagery gets interesting.SMART Goal Performance Improvement?You do not have to wait until the real moment to practice the real moment.You can pre-experience it.Rehearse the meeting.Rehearse the workout.Rehearse studying.Rehearse making the call.Rehearse walking past the thing that keeps distracting you.Rehearse finishing.Rehearse succeeding.Practice the behavior before the behavior is required.That is guided imagery for SMART Goal performance improvement.Not magical thinking.Not “manifest harder.”Intentional imagination aimed at an actual measurable target.Give Your Imagination Somewhere To Go!Your imagination is already working.It rehearses failure.It rehearses guilt.It rehearses shame.It rehearses pain.It rehearses embarrassment.It rehearses everything that could go wrong.Sometimes it even rehearses an argument with somebody who is
not currently in the damn room.
Fine.Give it an assignment.What exactly are you going to do?How will you know you did it?When will you do it?What does successful completion actually look like?Now imagine that.ExampleNot:I want to exercise more.Try:I will walk for 20 minutes after dinner on:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next four weeks.
Now there is something to rehearse.Shoes on.Door open.First step.Weather.Body moving.Moment you want to quit.Decision to keep going.Coming home.Done.You just gave imagination an intended target.Practice Before PerformanceAthletes do it.Performers do it.Public Speakers do it.Natural Sales people do it.People rehearse speeches, interviews, difficult conversations
and medical procedures in their heads every day.
Angie Y, MS, CHt SMART Goal guided imagery makes that rehearsal deliberate.Choose the target.Define the behavior.Rehearse the behavior.Then go do the damn thing.WTAF Does Angie Y Do?I guide.You bring the SMART Goal.I help keep your intentional imagination aimed at the
performance you actually want to improve.
You experience the rehearsal in real time.Ready To Stop “Trying”?Bring me your goal.Not a vague hope.Not someday.Not eventually.A real SMART Goal.Then let’s give your imagination something useful to practice
during an Angie Y, MS, CHt guided imagery intervention.

Can guided imagery help me
reach a SMART goal?

That is one of my favorite uses for it.You choose the goal.You take the credit.I guide your imagination through purposeful practice:~ doing the steps
~ experiencing progress
~ dealing with obstacles
~ adjusting when something goes sideways
~ reaching what you decided mattered
Do something once and you had an experience.Do it again and you practiced.Keep practicing and you can begin building a habit.Good practice can build good habits.Bad practice can build crappy ones.So why not practice on purpose?If you attain and sustain your SMART goal, that accomplishment belongs to you.I guide.Your imagination helps you help yourself.
